I hope that 2010 is going well for everyone. The Omapitiro Weyuva After-School Class planning is still going great. Last week Friday the volunteers scheduled a meeting with the guardians to discuss what is needed for the class. It was also just a great time for the guardians to meet and share what the children told them about last years class. Below are a couple of pictures.

As many of you may know the Omapitiro Weyuva After-School Class is undergoing some transitions. We are starting to pass on the knowledge of running the class to Ms. Florencia (Folo) Nunes. She is a very competent young lady with a heart of gold. She will take over the lesson planning, teaching, note taking, blogging, budgeting, and everything that is needed to continue the success of the class. I would like to take this time to introduce Folo. She is the spotlight below.
Spotlight on Florencia
Q1. What is your full name and age?
A1. My name is Florencia, Folo Nunes. I will turn 26 this year.
Q2. When and where were you born?
A3. I am the only child of my mother but I do have half siblings from my dad. They are Nandi 24, Anna 18, Julita 10, Karen 7, and Mario 3.
A4. I am still a student at Polytechnic of Namibia. I am studying Public Management and do it through distance learning.
A5. My favorite subjects when I was in elementary school was history, math, and geography. Now I am very interested in development and social studies.
A6. For fun I like to bake, go for rides in a car, and I like to talk with people.
A7. My favorite sports are soccer and swimming. I also enjoy watching rugby.
A8. I would not change my childhood.
A9. While I was growing up I always wanted to be a nurse but now I dislike it. I want to do something that involves working with and helping people but I don't want to sit in an office. I want to go out to people to help them.
A10. I like watching the children do math. They are so serious and its great to see them concentrate so hard on a task.
Thanks Folo!!
For Now, Uhara Nawa
